Kaua e rangiruatia te hāpai o te hoe; e kore tō tātou waka e ū ki uta.
Technology is intervention by design. It uses intellectual and practical resources to create technological outcomes, which expand human possibilities by addressing needs and realising opportunities. Effective and ethical design respects the unique relationship that New Zealanders have with their physical environment and embraces the significance of Māori culture and world views in its practice and innovation. - New Zealand Curriculum

The second project is electronics and students are able to propose a project they would like to make, choosing componentry and other technical details.
You will develop a complex digital outcome to meet a need of your choosing. Your work will be assessed against a selection of achievement standards and may involve:
advanced computer programming and database design

Electronics
The course is project based and requires you to manage your time and resources to a high level.
We strongly recommend you have passed 11DTE at a minimum before taking this course. Preferably you have passed either 12DTG or 12DTS. If you have not taken either level 1 or level 2 Digital Technology, and you wish to do 13DTS, you will need to schedule a meeting with the Head of Department Thomas Han Stevenson (t.hanstevenson@wc.school.nz) to discuss if this is the right choice for you.
The course covers 3x internal and 1x external standards.
Project 1 - Databases and Programming (2x standards)
