Scholarship Economics provides an excellent opportunity to showcase all your accrued knowledge of the economy, producers and consumers to date. It also give prospective employers and insight into the dedication and intend of students willingness to succeed in their academic endeavors.
Students that have a keen interest in issues facing society would be encouraged to come along, especially if they are Year 13 Economics students who have done 12 Economics also.
Typically the exam is made up of three essay questions. These will have an economic question followed by bullet points to help guide the economic analysis of the problem. Resource material is provided to give key data and explanation, therefore students apply their knowledge of economic theory (and models) to answer the question.
Students that are taking Scholarship Calculus or have a mastery of and knowledge of graphs could be able to take up Scholarship Economics without taking Year 13 Economics.
Scholarship sessions are a combination of lecture style teaching, group discussions and collaborative reasoning. A multitude of resources are made available for getting students up to speed.
We hope you have a successful and interesting year!
