Wellington College has a long and successful history of entries in the annual Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Competition, with students being selected to go forward to the National competition and National Shakespeare Schools Production (NSSP)

In 2024 we had 3 highly successful entries in the Regional Competition, with one entry being selected to go forward to the National Competition held at the St James Theatre.

Preparation for the Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Regional Competition typically takes place in weeks 3 and 4 of Term 1. Here, students will choose how they might like to participate, this could include:

• Directing

• Performing

• Composing

• Costuming

• Technical Designing

KEEP AN EYE ON THE SCHOOL NOTICES AND SIGN-UP ON CLUBS DAY TO GET INVOLVED!

Most scenes are student directed and lead, but we sometimes have teacher directed scenes too. If you'd like to know more you can contact:
