Virtual Round I
In order to plan for the totally virtual component of the NVSEF (Round II), you need to determine how many of your research teams will be eligible to continue from your local fair to the NVSEF.
Each school in the NVSEF is automatically granted three places.* But depending on how many total research teams you have participating in the local fair will determine how many more spots will be available for you to award. Follow the simple equation below to determine how many total spots your school will be awarded.
All schools will automatically receive three (3) places, which of course represent the top three teams.
If your school had 16-30 teams, receive an additional one (1) place.
31-45 teams, receive an additional one (1) place.
46-60 teams, receive an additional one (1) place.
61-75 teams, receive an additional one (1) place.
76-90 teams, receive an additional one (1) place.
etc...etc...etc
*Note: If you have a school with 7 or less teams, you may only send 2 teams forward.
For example AIS Riyadh has 68 teams participating in the NVSEF local fair. They would be guaranteed 3 teams automatically + 4 more teams = 7 entrees into the NVSEF**.
All NVSEF competing schools must submit by April 10, 2023 the number of research teams from your school that are advancing to Round II from your school to sfleischer@wbais.net (Stuart Fleischer).
The NVSEF staff needs time to determine the number of e-judges necessary for the virtual competition.
**If you have very close tie between your last two teams qualifying, then you are able to advance once extra team.
