Ms. Zygmunt is proud to be APT’s Governor's Educator of the Year. She is one of the many members of the Collie Squad that make APT a wonderful place to learn, grow, and achieve.
As a Physical Education teacher, Ms. Zygmunt gets the privilege of knowing every single student in the school, and she loves to watch them grow, discover and take ownership of their strengths and skills, and become positive members of the community. Being an advisor for several school programs and activities, including Safety Patrol, Peer Mediation Club, and Unified (STARS) Club, Ms. Zygmunt is so grateful to be able to be so involved with the school community and work with students in so many different ways. Ms. Zygmunt feels that her role at APT is one built on opportunity, creativity, and fun, and that’s because of the people around her. Her administration, colleagues, students and families support her and her work at APT, and she is forever thankful for that. Being a P.E. teacher is one of the best jobs in the world, according to Ms. Zygmunt. Nothing is better than having students come up to her every day and ask, “What are we doing in P.E. today!?” with excitement in their voices. She loves that every day is different, she feels supported and cared about by her community, and she gets to make special memories each and every day with her students.
As a former Wayne Township Public School student (and former APT Collie at that!), it has been an amazing journey for Ms. Zygmunt on becoming an educator in Wayne. Finding success in her academic and Division 1 athletic career, much due to the foundation built by being a student in Wayne, Ms. Zygmunt thoroughly enjoys being able to give back to the community that built her. What she enjoys most about being employed with the Wayne Township Public School District is the unlimited opportunities to grow as an educator, the ability to collaborate and learn from some of the top educators and administration, and the chance to experience all sides of education in an amazing place like Wayne Township Public Schools. The impact that WTPS has had on her career is nothing short of incredible, and she looks forward to what the future holds for her and the district.
The thing that Lisa Silva loves most about being and education specialist is the students. Working as a nurse with children instead of adults has been a very rewarding experience.
Lisa is very proud to be working in the same school system that her children attended. She had picked Wayne to raise her children in a great school district and is happy that she can walk to work!
