Teaching allows me the opportunity to be constantly inspired by the youth of today! I love seeing students gain confidence as they progress their way through middle school. Students are finding their voice and passions, and I am in the middle of this excitement everyday. As an English/Language Arts teacher, I am honored to be able to be a bridge for students to express themselves through reading and writing.
I am surrounded by a wonderful support team of teachers, compassionate administrators, and grateful parents. Wayne Township Public Schools holds a special place in my life. I attended K-12 schools here as a child myself and met my husband while attending Wayne Hills. My children attend Wayne Township Public Schools and it is a blessing to be able to teach in the town I reside in.
My role as a School Psychologist gives me the privilege of working directly with not only the children but also their parents and their teachers to support each other. This is so rewarding because I can see the child from a perspective that transcends the classroom. I am not only a clinician but I also am a consultant, an observer, a counselor, and bridge among a child's home and school life. I love being that resource while also being able to sit in a classroom along with a child who needs help or being available to talk among my colleagues on how to reach a struggling child.
I have the rare and distinct privilege on Child Study Team of having worked at only one school throughout my time in Wayne. Anthony Wayne Middle School has always been my home and I hope it will continue to be going forward! I feel exceedingly fortunate to have built my work home at AW and, through my time in the Wayne Township School District at AW, I have met many families of various backgrounds. I know Wayne is a big suburban town and I feel fortunate to work for this district because it provides me with that experience of working with so many different types of families.
