I enjoy watching students grow and hopefully contributing something to that process. It is very gratifying to know that something a student learned during their time with me has had a lasting and positive impact on their lives in some way.
I feel quite fortunate to be working in Wayne. It is a very supportive environment and I have had the opportunity to work with many talented colleagues and students.
What I love most about being a school counselor is that I am in a unique position to impact students every day. I love that I am able to help students to explore and learn more about themselves and their future aspirations. Being an advocate every day for my students and for the profession of school counseling is extremely fulfilling which is why I am also involved in various other roles, such as being the President of Passaic School Counselors Association and the Executive Committee Secretary for New Jersey Association of College Admissions Counselors. I love that every day is different and full of new challenges to overcome.
Working in Wayne was truly my dream and I felt extremely lucky to have been hired here right out of Graduate school. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to have been mentored by some really amazing counselors (who have since retired). They showed me the importance of having a team around you who is also like a family. I also feel so lucky to have been supported along the way by a team of forward-thinking administration who value what I do as a counselor and allow me to be creative and try new things. Part of the reason I have loved coming to work every day for the last 9 years are the people who surround me. They allow me to be me, they support me and challenge me at the same time, but overall, they make me a better counselor and person.
