Anthony Wayne Middle School followed through with their scheduled Spirit Week by having a Virtual Spirit Week during Distance Learning the week of March 23rd.

A Wayne Hills student in Mrs. Hart's Foods class prepares meals that she has learned for her family in these challenging time.
A Wayne Hills student in Mrs. Hart's Foods class prepares meals that she has learned for her family in these challenging time.
Here is the email that Mrs. Hart received from her student's mother: "Dear Ms. Hart, I just wanted to let you know that during these challenging times our family is eating quite well thanks to all that Marisa learns from being in your class. She has been volunteering to prepare meals for us that we normally do not have. I hope you are staying healthy. We appreciate the enthusiasm you bring out in Marisa."

Wayne Hills Special Education teachers, a Para, Child Study Team members and a Behaviorist visited 16 of our Special Needs students in a Teacher Parade.
Wayne Hills Special Education teachers, a Para, Child Study Team members and a Behaviorist visited 16 of our Special Needs students in a Teacher Parade.
IMG_4666 (1).MOVFamilies were challenged to make decorations/noise makers/posters out of things they found in their homes, and teachers did the same. Ms. Getzke mapped out a route and they all met in the morning and drove to each student's house. When they arrived, the families greeted them in the yards, or on porches displaying their decorations, and even one student, Garrett, played the drums for them.

The smiles, laughs and tears were shed on both sides of the parade. The staff are missing the students as much as the students are missing them. Thank you to Mr. Rewick for his permission to try out this idea and the staff are really looking forward to facilitating the next parade. The parade really lifted everyone’s spirits!
