BACK TO SCHOOL

MASKS & PHYSICAL DISTANCING

  • Building staff, student teachers, pre-service teachers and necessary vendors - masks are required (a shield may be worn if a valid reason exists - health or educational.)

  • Bus driver masks are required (a shield may be worn if a valid reason exists - health or educational.)

  • Student masks are required both in the buildings, outside during recess and while riding on the bus.


  • Acrylic barriers will be installed in the building offices.

  • Physical distancing will be done when possible in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, buses and other shared spaces.

  • Some level of risk will always be present when students and school district employees occupy district facilities.

START OF SCHOOL DAY

Breakfast will be served during these time frames:

    • WHS 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.

    • WMS 7:30 a.m. - 7:55 a.m.

    • WES 7:30 a.m. - 7:55 a.m.

    • WPS 7:50 a.m. - 8:20 a.m.

Students not eating breakfast will report directly to their classroom upon entering the building. Buildings will be open each day at the following times:

  • WHS 7:30 a.m.

  • WMS 7:30 a.m.

  • WES 7:30 a.m.

  • WPS 7:50 a.m.

STAGGERED START

PARENT EXPECTATIONS:

  • Screen for COVID-19 symptoms.

  • Only visit school in an emergency.

  • Provide personal size hand sanitizer if possible.

  • Do not send student with symptoms to school.

  • Communicate COVID-19 diagnosis to school.

STUDENTS EXPECTATIONS:

  • Screen for COVID-19 symptoms (age approp.)

  • Wash hands thoroughly throughout day & use hand sanitizer when washing isn't possible.

  • Remember to bring a clean mask.

  • Make an effort not to touch face.

  • Use social distancing - please do not congregate.

  • 50% air flow increase into all classrooms

  • Assigned seats.

  • Separated as possible.

  • Facing same direction/lecture setting.

  • Hand sanitizer provided in each classroom.

  • Students will be asked to sanitize hands before and after classes.

  • Mask breaks will be provided.

  • No hard copy homework.

  • Chromebook distribution (6th-12th grades) will be the first week of school.

  • 2 students per seat, possibly 3.

  • Assigned seats for all students - family cohort, neighborhood cohort or by bus stop.

  • Students will load buses back to front.

  • Students will unload buses front to back.

  • Masks are required for all students and required for driver.

  • Classroom based field trips will not take place until further guidance is provided.

  • Students will wash or sanitize hands before and after lunch

  • Social distancing, assigned seating and/or cohort seating.

  • All areas for lunch will be disinfected.

  • Packaged utensils and condiments.

  • Milk will be placed on trays.

  • No keypad use.

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available.

  • No visitors will be allowed to enter the building unless a scheduled appointment or emergency situation exists.

  • Visitors who do arrive at our buildings will be communicated with via the intercom system.

  • No 2020-2021 School Open Houses.

  • Students will be required to wear masks.

  • Students will be asked to sanitize their hands before and after recess.

  • Playground balls, hoops, jump ropes, etc. will not be available until further notice.

  • Hallway drinking fountains will be turned off.

  • Classroom fountains and sinks will continue to be used with added safety protocols.

  • Water bottles will continue to be permitted for all students.

CLEANING PROTOCOL

  • Hand washing/sanitizing will be done on a regular basis.

  • All shared spaces & surfaces will be regularly disinfected with approved products.

  • Electrostatic disinfectants used as needed in buildings & on buses for intense cleaning.

  • COUNSELING SERVICES WILL CONTINUE.

  • ALL POINTS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO UPDATES IN STATE OR LOCAL EMERGENCY HEALTH MANDATES.
