LearnTech is about using technology for learning, and about sharing learning about technology. Get-and-Give sessions are quick overviews of applications followed by a quick shared-expertise discussion. Depending on need and interest, group or individual repeat or follow-up sessions for support can be determined.

Google classroom works in tandem with your class website as a way to create, organize, distribute and grade assignments in a paperless way.

Students need a Google account and the code that a teacher provides in order to join the classroom.

Kids and teachers doing book recommendations using Flipgrid. Kids would LOVE it! Very user friendly. What is Flipgrid? Flipgrid is a video discussion platform for educators, students, and families. Teachers post topics to spark the conversation and students respond with short videos.

Literator App

A free app that could be very useful for conferring. You can enter your students and their instructional reading level to get a list of the skills they should be working on at that level.

  • Has prompts to use with students to help you collect information regarding skill mastery

Looking for an application to hone reading comprehension and provide some activities that support state testing? ReadWorks.org has many possibilities for class and individual student use. Students do not need a Google account for this program.
