What is a BESTflex Plan? A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) gives employees the option to participate in a plan that saves money on their out-of-pocket medical and /or dependent day care expenses. Participants elect to place a portion of their paycheck into one or both FSAs. Participants draw upon these funds to pay for eligible medical expenses and /or dependent care expenses. The flexible spending accounts offer significant tax advantages because you don't pay Social Security, Federal and State taxes on your flexible spending enrollment amounts. Because you don't pay taxes on your flexible spending amount, you gain an easy way to save money while paying for expenses you expect to incur. Visit EBC’s Resource Center to read more about the IRS-approved Section 125 BESTflex Plan.
Enrollment Times: Please note, FSA enrollment is required each year. IF you are currently enrolled, you must re-enroll for each future year you wish to continue the benefit and can change your enrollment amount(s). If you do not wish to enroll or wish to stop at year-end, no action is necessary. Annual open enrollment is July 1 - June 30. (2) new hires from their start date to June 30 and (3) mid-year permitted election changes - contact EBC to inquire.
