An "Artist of the Quarter" Award is given to one student in each section of art at the junior high and high school levels.  Below are the students chosen for the 4th Quarter of the 2023-2024 academic year.

All junior high and high school art students participated in the 2023 Harvest Days Pumpkin Decorating Contest at the Old Courthouse Museum the weekend of October 7th/8th. Our students submitted 123 decorated pumpkins into the contest this year.  The theme this year was "Fairytales and Storybooks."

 The Watseka Academic Foundation hosted Pride Night at WCHS on November 10th, 2023.

Various activities showcasing sports and academics were included in the evening - artwork was also on display for all to enjoy.


WCHS Students also participated in the Courthouse Museum's Gingerbread House Competition and the Courthouse's Christmas Tree Lane

This spring, WCHS students participated in both the KCC High School Art Show and the Vermilion Conference Art Show.

Vermilion Art Show Winners

Watseka junior high and high school students participated in the 2024 American Legion Poppy Poster Contest.  Six students' posters were chosen by our local American Legion & Legion Auxiliary members to move on to the state level of the competition.

The winning students were:  Lanna Newman, Wyatt Batterman, Bri Denault, Stephanie Barnett, Kinzie Smith, & Christa Holohan.
