PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. At JTPS, we implement our PBIS program around three core values, the 3Rs: Ready, Respectful, and Responsible. When students are noticed following these expectations, they receive a GOTCHA along with specific feedback, such as, "I like the way you are sharing your materials at your table. You are showing respect." Students collect their GOTCHAs throughout the month and redeem them for a variety of rewards at the end of each month.
We hold several PBIS assemblies throughout the school year to celebrate our successes, promote engagement and motivate students, and to set goals for the remainder of the school year.
Each day, we sing our school song and recite our school pledge to remind ourselves of our intentions to follow the 3Rs.
John Trumbull Primary School Pledge
I am proud to be a John Trumbull Primary School student.
I pledge to come to school every day READY to learn.
I will be RESPONSIBLE for what I say and do.
I will RESPECT myself and others.
I will help make our school a safe place for me and you!

We are thoughtful, kind, and gentle,
We are strong and we are brave,
You can always count on us
to do our best work every day.
Always honest always friendly,
We take pride in all we do,
We are proud to be the children
