I grew up in Watertown, I am a product of Watertown Public Schools, and I continue to make my home here with my husband and two children. I am proud that I am able to give back to the community that shaped me.
Growing up, I went to Polk School, Heminway Park School (now our Town Hall), Swift Middle School, and graduated from Watertown High School in 2001.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Development from the School of Family Studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Connecticut (Go Huskies!) in 2005.
I went on to pursue my Master’s degree in Elementary Education at the University of Bridgeport and I graduated in 2006. I completed my internship and student teaching experiences in the Naugatuck Public School District. I was subsequently hired as a literacy support staff in Naugatuck upon completion of my student teaching.
In 2007 I went on to teach full-time in an inclusion-based Preschool School Readiness Program in Ansonia Public Schools.
In 2008 I was hired in Watertown to teach first grade at John Trumbull Primary School, where I have loyally remained. This year is my 17th year here!
In 2019 I graduated from the University of New England with my 6th Year degree in Advanced Graduate Studies with a focus in Literacy in Elementary Education.
My ongoing goal as a lifelong learner is to stay focused on best teaching practices, do what is right by and for children, and use my time with your child to fully understand all the ways in which I can provide support. It is important that we all work together as a team in order to help your child succeed.
