Technology 7 introduces students to different areas of technology and their real-world applications. Students explore how technology impacts life, society, and the environment while building skills in problem-solving, design, creativity, teamwork, and communication to grow their technological and engineering literacy.
A hands-on class where students explore the exciting world of creativity and making. You will learn the difference between inventions and innovations, discover how new products are designed, and even learn about patents that protect ideas. As part of the class, you’ll use the product design process to create and improve your own projects. You’ll also get hands-on experience with materials processing and manufacturing techniques while safely using basic hand tools and woodworking tools like the miter saw, drill press, and band saw. By the end of the course, you’ll have new skills, knowledge, and confidence to turn your ideas into real creations!
Design and Drawing for Production (DDP) introduces students to a universal graphic language that allows them to express their ideas with creativity, clarity, and accuracy. Students will learn how to use both technical drawing and computer-aided design (CAD) to clearly communicate their designs. They will explore how products are created, tested, and improved while developing skills in problem-solving, innovation, and communication. Through hands-on projects, students will practice sketching, modeling, and using technology to bring their ideas to life. This course also helps students understand the role of design and engineering in many careers and everyday life.
