1. Access your reading notebook

2. On slide 21, make a work plan for your reading work today

3. Review your research notebook and read through the notes you have taken throughout your research time

4. On slide 21, identify the two texts you will use to synthesize information about your subtopic

5. Use the note taking structure to take notes on the important information from one text

6. Add information to your synthesis notes in a different color font

7. With remaining time, begin working on your reading symposium project to present your subtopic research

2. Use slides 25-28 to take notes for your subtopic paragraphs

   • Focus on taking facts directly from the source (copy and paste it, you will paraphrase LATER)

3. Explain the information you are gathering while you research

   • What does it explain to your reader about your subtopic

   • Why is it important?

   • How can you expand on the information you found while researching?
