Directions:

1. Access your reading notebook

2. Create a research plan on slide 6

3. Begin previewing texts using the digital research resources and the materials in the breakout

4. All breakout materials MUST be returned at the end of class

5. If you want to save your place in a book, place a sticky note with your name on it on the page you left off on

6. Be on the lookout for subtopics that appear frequently and the text structures you are noticing

7. By the end of class, complete slide 6

8. Identify a text that you previewed today identify the text structure and how you knew that was that text structure

9. Identify different subtopics that you noticed during your previewing

1. Access your Writing Notebook

   • Go to your Class App and click on writing

2. Using the editing checklist on the class website, edit your informational masterpiece

3. Be sure to use your spell check tools

4. Whisper read your masterpiece aloud to catch any errors that don’t make your writing sound fluid

5. DO NOT RUSH YOUR EDITING, TAKE YOUR TIME

6. When your writing is complete, be sure you follow your teacher’s instructions on how to submit your work
