About me

(Click on my photo to go to my virtual office)

I know Washougal students are amazing! I am excited to work with students at both Jemtegaard and Canyon Creek again this year as a Student Assistance Professional.

I work to improve student outcomes by addressing student substance use and social-emotional health. Which really means that I help students grow and discover who they want to be! I help them develop coping skills and I GET TO HAVE FUN WITH THEM through this process.

I have worked with students, school and communities for over 20 years in a variety of settings. In that time I have worked with both middle and high school students from Vancouver, Evergreen, Camas and Washougal school districts.

I grew up in the Clackamas area, leaving to attend college in California and returned to the Great Northwest to complete my BA in Human Development from Warner Pacific University, with a emphasis on education. I joined the prevention field and attained my Certified Prevention Professional Certificate through the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium Board.

Fun Fact: While working for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Portland, I was recognized and selected to represent Oregon to take a student to meet Michael Jordan in Chicago, at opening of the James Jordan Boys and Girls Club. It was an amazing adventure.

Commitment Statement:

I am committed to guiding our students to develop the life skills that will help them not only today but, in the future.

I will listen and not judge, I will support and empower. I will provide resources. I will accept them where they are and respect their opinion. Students can feel safe. We will work together to discover what is important to them. I will be honest with them, while guiding them, in the direction to reach THEIR GOALS. I will provide connection. I am committed to caring about each student. I will provide a safe place to talk.

I am committed to building dreams.
