FACT:  The 2023 capital referendum will be on your property tax bill for the next 19 years.  This will happen regardless of the outcome of the April 2 operating referendum vote.

FACT: The students in our community will still need to be educated and that cost will be on your tax bill no matter what district educates them.

On Monday, December 18, 2023 the Washington-Caldwell School District Board of Education unanimously voted to approve Washington-Caldwell School District placing an operational referendum question on the April 2, 2024 general election ballot.

Due to increasing operating costs and decreasing state funding, we now need your support.  The Board of Education is returning to the voters seeking approval of a referendum for ongoing operating revenue.

Quick facts:

WHAT: One non-recurring operational referendum question to support Washington-Caldwell School District is on the Spring general election ballot.

WHEN: All residents of the school district should cast their vote on the April 2, 2024, general election ballot - either in person or absentee.

WHY: The State Legislature provides operational referendums as the only way schools can ask voters to exceed the revenue limit.
