Course overview
German III expands on the reading, writing, speaking, listening and cultural skills acquired in German I and II. Students will participate in various activities designed to improve language proficiency. The goal of this course is for students to produce meaningful and intelligent conversation and writing in German relating to a variety of topics. Students will be exposed to authentic materials and conversation in the following contexts: describing events in the past, discussing positives and negatives about where to live, discussing clothing, discussing German cuisine and following a German recipe, comparing the German and American school systems and talking about careers, and reading German fairy tales. Special attention will be given to the differences and similarities between daily life and attitudes in Europe and America. At the end of German 3, students will be qualified to travel abroad with Warwick's exchange program to Bavaria.

I grew up in Lititz and graduated from Warwick in 2005. My predecessor, Herr Hoffman, was my German teacher and I traveled to Altötting on the GAPP exchange.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in German and International Studies from Lycoming College. I spent both semesters of my junior year living and studying abroad in Bamberg, Germany, a beautiful town in northern Bavaria about 40 miles north of Nuremberg. After Lycoming, I completed a teacher certification program and earned a Master of Arts degree in German Literature and Foreign Language Pedagogy from the University of Delaware. I taught German 1 - AP for two years in Loudoun County, Virginia before returning home to Warwick in 2015. At Warwick, I currently teach German 2, German 3, and AP German.
My husband and I have two children: Samuel (8) and Harper (6). We enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and camping, and we try to travel as much as we can.
