Course overview
Second-year German is a continuation of first-year German. Stress on the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing will be continued. There will be more emphasis on communicating in German and using more complicated sentences. Practical language and student interaction will be featured, along with continued information on Germanic culture. Some topics covered this year include talking about household chores; shopping for groceries; giving and following directions in a city; discussing film, book, and music preferences; discussing holidays in German-speaking countries; planning a party; and discussing health and daily routines.

I grew up in Lititz and graduated from Warwick in 2005. My predecessor, Herr Hoffman, was my German teacher and I traveled to Altötting on the GAPP exchange.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in German and International Studies from Lycoming College. I spent both semesters of my junior year living and studying abroad in Bamberg, Germany, a beautiful town in northern Bavaria about 40 miles north of Nuremberg. After Lycoming, I completed a teacher certification program and earned a Master of Arts degree in German Literature and Foreign Language Pedagogy from the University of Delaware. I taught German 1 - AP for two years in Loudoun County, Virginia before returning home to Warwick in 2015. At Warwick, I currently teach German 2, German 3, and AP German.
My husband and I have two children: Samuel (8) and Harper (6). We enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and camping, and we try to travel as much as we can.
