British Model Flying Association

In association with the BMFA (British Model Flying Association) this is a full day where students would not only build a model but, also learn about how aeroplanes fly, the forces involved and the role of different parts of a plane.

Students will build a model called the "Dart" using a plan, balsa wood, scalpels and wood glue. They will also have a chance to fly using a flight simulator and engage in quizzes to test their new knowledge of planes and flight.Later in the day, all models will be tested and to fly at their best with their rubber band motors.

Gold, silver and bronzes certificates and prizes will be awarded to the top flyers and all students will be allowed to take their models home. It is advised that students bring in a very large cereal box to help transport their model home.
