Departing Students & Staff

Account deactivation

School Google accounts for graduating seniors and retiring staff are typically deactivated sometime mid-summer, usually around the end of July. Deactivation for other accounts tends to occur closer to the date of final attendance/employment. Once the account is deactivated, you will no longer be able to log in to access your school email or any of your Google Drive files, docs, slideshows, etc.

Saving your data

If there are email messages or Drive items that you would like to keep after the deactivation, you have three options:

Maintenance of data

Please be aware that your data is still kept by the school for many years, in accordance with federal and state law. If necessary, you can contact the WPS Tech Support team or school's main office to help you get temporary access to those files after your account has been deactivated.

Chromebook return

Graduating seniors will return their Chromebooks and chargers at designated drop-off times after final exams, as part of the "senior obligations" system.

Students who are leaving the school district for other reasons (transfers, moving out of town, etc.) can return borrowed Chromebook equipment to their school's main office or school counselor.
