Pianist Yoojin Lee, a native of South Korea, has extensively performed throughout South Korea, Europe and the United States. She holds Bachelor’s of Music in Piano Performance at Sook Myung Womens University in Seoul, South Korea and Master of Music in Piano Performance at Manhattan School of Music in New York City, where she received President’s Award. She also received Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at Boston University in Boston, MA.
Dr. Lee has won numerous competitions such as, The Music Education News Competition, Han-Eum Competition, The National Students Competition, in Seoul, South Korea. She has also won the 1st prize at the American Protégé Piano and String Competition and The Lilian Fuchs Chamber Music competition in New York.
Dr. Lee has appeared in The Lives of the Piano Concert Series-Mendelssohn 200th Anniversary Concert- in Manhattan School of Music, Arts Outreach Initiative at BMC in Boston, ALEA III (Contemporary Music Ensemble in residence at Boston University). As a member of Duo Nouveau, a cello and piano duo, she has performed in many recitals including the concerts sponsored by M. Steinert & Sons in Natick and Brookline Library Music Association.
Dr. Lee is a passionate piano teacher. She teaches at her private piano studio located in Newton, MA and she is a part-time piano instructor at M. Steinert & Sons Piano Academy in Natick, MA. Her goal is to encourage students to appreciate and enjoy the whole process of making music. Moreover, she supports students to equip many technical and musical tools they need to be independent learners.
