Sir Moon
By Katie Hurwitz
Sir moon in the sky
Do your tide-moving capacities determine my lunacy?
For you are the natural light
In a black room with hiding souls
Or is it the madame sun behind you?
The secret to your seeming radiance
She hides her soul while melting humbly into flaming orange
And sets sleepily into a part of you
Master of midnight
Guide me to
Sleep without dreams
Nourish me with timeless rest
Under cloths of my own warmth
Without subconscious stories distracting
Noble of noon
Let me
Dream without sleep
Inspire me to write my own wishes
While gazing at the blur of your shadows under the sycamore tree
Without forgetting the climax
Sir and madame
Sun and moon
Sleep and memories
For if sun with moon
And moon with sun
Are one
Let me dream with sleep
Sleep with dreams
