Hello ~
I would like to welcome you to kindergarten! I will do my best to ensure a positive school experience for all. My goals for the children during the first few weeks of school are simply to feel safe, comfortable, and happy at school as they become familiar with our classroom rules and routines.
I thank you in advance for your support and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. I look forward to an exciting and wonderful year!

Many of your questions will be answered here.
As we begin our kindergarten year, there are some important details I’d like to share with you:
Please label all of your child's belongings.
Please have your child attach his/her bus tag to his/her backpack. The office requires notification for any change in your child’s transportation schedule.
Snack and lunch are very important parts of the day! Please be sure to pack a snack with a drink and a lunch with a drink. Please include necessary snack utensils. You will be able to order lunch and/or milk/water from the cafeteria free of charge.
Throughout the year I will send home Scholastic Reading Club catalogs. Do not feel obligated to buy these books. If you decide to purchase books, please use the classroom code provided MQ7MB.
A backpack is very useful to bring to school each day. Please make sure that a standard size folder fits inside the backpack. Each student should bring in their own headphones that will be stored in the classroom.
I will be looking for two room parents. A room parent may be asked to collect various supplies needed for the classroom, help coordinate various activities that may come up during the school year, etc.
Supplies are greatly and gratefully appreciated! Supplies used regularly are disinfectant wipes, hand wipes & paper towels. Thank you so much!
Here is the link to my website: Mrs. Joyce's Class. This website will provide information about important dates, student access to tools used in the classroom, curriculum & technology tips. In the upper right hand corner you will find Resources and the Specials schedule. Click on the red Parent button for important dates, Scholastic Reading Club information, curriculum information & technology tips. Please continue to scroll to the bottom of this page for this information. Click on the green Student button for engaging student apps and activities.
I'm very excited to share that our class will be using an amazing app called SeeSaw in which students can build online digital portfolios to share their learning in a safe and engaging way. Each child has their own journal where they can document their learning. Families are able to connect to their child's journal at home to view the work they are doing. I will also share pictures & videos of classroom activities through this app.
I will communicate with families daily using the email "Ask Me About". I may send friendly reminders or just conversation starters.
Please contact me using the blue button below. This will allow me to create an email contact group. Your email can be as simple as, Hello, my child's name is ~. Please remember to add all guardians' email addresses wishing to receive information. This will also apply for the Seesaw app.
Best,
Jeannine Joyce
