BATTLE DAY IS THURSDAY, APRIL 17!
Beginning in February, Boyden students in grades 3-5 will be participating in an exciting competition called Battle of the Books. This fun literacy program encourages students to read a wide range of genres and authors.
WHAT IS IT?
Students read books and come together in teams to demonstrate their knowledge of the books. This program is for grades 3-5. Students will choose books from a list of 13 titles. The books are available in limited numbers at the Boyden Media Center. They are also available anywhere you would purchase books and at the public library.
Teams will be organized by class and grade. Battle meetings take place on Fridays from 2/7-4/16 during school. Reading can take place at school and at home. There are many ways to read. Students can read with families and friends, listen to audio books, and more. There is no cost for this program.
Not sure where to start? Look at the title list and summaries with your student. Ask what book excites them? Make a plan to start reading the book.
Thank you for your support and enthusiasm. Please continue to explore this website. Hopefully it will answer all your Battle questions!
Happy Reading!
