For this article I will be trying out Shake Shack, a fairly new restaurant to Walnut Creek. I will be trying the Fries, Cookies and Cream shake, Avocado bacon burger, and the ShackBurger, as well as reviewing some disappointing maintenance.

First, we will start with the Fries, a classic with a burger. These fries were not a disappointment, they had a good crunch, flavorful, well cooked inside, and lightly seasoned taste. The fries made for a good combo with a burger and shake, simple, but well done.

Next up, the avocado bacon burger. This one was a little bit of a let down from those fries, with a little bit of a soggy bun, hidden avocado until the bite finishes (makes it more of a bacon burger- than avocado), and the cheese was not very strong and a bit oily. However, the beef was cooked well to my preference (a tiny bit under medium) and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The ShackBurger was nothing to special with a ripe avocado and a medium cooked patty- overcooked to some, perfect for me. The bun was over oily/buttered, the cheese a little slimy. Theses burgers were perfectly average with some let downs. The burgers have great ideas but not the best execution.

To finalize our food, our last dish is the Cookies and Cream shake. This was the height of our meal. The Cookies and Cream Shake had a great amount of cookies, perfect cold temperature and a great size, creamy, but a bit to sweet for my preference. As my overall favorite, the shake was a delicious component to my meal with the right balance of cookies to cream and just an overall delicious shake and a winner.

As for the maintenance, this was disappointing. There was lots of trash around and the people doing the maintenance picking up trash were not very careful, I had some encounters with this, one person was picking up the food trays to take, but they were very loudly slamming the trays to create a very unpleasant experience. Another encounter I had was as I was exiting the restaurant a person spilled lots of water right in front of me and did not say a word about the large puddle of water. Not the best maintenance as you can see.

To conclude, I rate Shake Shake a 2.75/5 stars because of the except able, but not great food and terrible maintenance. What really drew me to this restaurant is the name and the fact that Shake Shack is fairly new. Shake Shack is your average fast food burger place with good ideas that needs improvement.
