Yes... By the time you get to this article, it is WAY past Veterans day. But we (Stargirl and Starwatcher) have wanted to learn more about this day (especially because it gives a full day out of school..). The U.S. Army is a powerful force that defends and serves our Nation by land, sea, and air. These veterans that serve in the Army have permanent Stations and troops whenever there is a conflict. To enter the army, you must be between 18 ad 35 years old and must be a U.S. citizen. To get in, you have to have a physical fitness exam, The Vocational Aptitude Battery test, and other jobs many have additional requirements.
Being a marine Corp is a major role because it is the first force on the ground in most conflicts. Stations are all around the world at all times ready to develop quickly whenever needed. This service lasts for about four to six years. To become a Marine Corp, you have to be between 18 - 28 (or sometimes 17 if your parents let you) and you have to have a diploma.
The navy handels the operations under the sea, in the air, and on ground. To first come to the navy, you have to be between 17 - 39 years old. To become an officer in the navy, you have to be 19 - 42. The Navy recruits must all have to take the ASVAB test to determine which place that person will be placed. Training begins with seven to nine weeks of Boot Camp, located at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois.
Today, the air force is operated with a three part vision; the Global vigilance, reach, and power. This force is focused most on air and space. You must be between 18 (sometimes 17 if your parents let you) 30. You have to get through Basic Military Training in Texas for about eight and a half weeks. There are many different careers in the air force. For example, on of the most roles are flight crew and pilots. The air force relies also on mechanics, electronics, technicians, air traffic controllers, medical staff, and others.
The coast guards is a branch in the military that is different from the others. Coast guards do maritime duties, perform rescue missions, and more. To become a Coast Guard, you must be a U.S. citizen and be between 17-35 years old. You must be unmarried, have no debt, and high school graduate. It's America's sixth armed forces and the only military branch in the Homeland Security Department!
The US space force is the last service branch. It is advanced with operations in the air, on land, and in orbit. It's mission is to deploy forces that improve the nation's defensive technology. To first join the Space Force, you must be 17 - 39 years of age and be a U.S. citizen. There are 19 different career specialties. This branch requires the most training on the field and in classrooms, studying specific topics that is related to space craft, control operations and many more.
