Rides at Six Flags

by Avvie McInnes

Superman: Superman is a unique roller coaster because the seats are turned so you are lying on your stomach. To some, this may seem terrifying, but for many this can be an awesome addition to a roller coaster. This roller coaster has one loopty-loop, and one spot where the track flips upside down. This makes it really cool, because it is such a different feeling when you are lying on your stomach.

Batman: Batman is a really cool ride. Your legs are freely dangling below the seats with nothing underneath them. There are a couple loopty-loops, and multiple parts of the track are spiraling and flipping, which gives for a super fun and thrilling ride.

Nitro: Nitro is known for its huge drops. The ride starts off by going up 230 feet, and then drops off. After the drop it's a crazy ride filled with more drops, twists, and turns. This ride is one of the biggest in the park, and one of the favorites. It’s definitely one of the most intense rides, but if you're brave enough, this is a fantastic ride!

Medusa: Personally, Medusa is my favorite ride in the park. It’s almost as if Batman and Nitro were merged into one ride. It has a pretty big drop, but then has six loops and twists and turns. It’s such a fun and smooth ride. To many, this would be a nauseating ride with all the loops and flips, but if your stomach can handle it, Medusa is a super cool ride.

Skull Mountain: The Skull Mountain roller coaster isn’t as terrifying as it sounds. It’s a pretty small ride, and it’s indoors. It’s in the dark, so it's hard to see the track, which makes it more interesting. This ride isn’t my favorite, because I find it a little boring and want something more thrilling. However, for anyone who is looking for a smaller but fun ride, this is definitely a great pick!

Kingda Ka: Kingda Ka is the tallest roller coaster in the world and one of the fastest! It climbs up a terrifying 456 feet and drops down, and then the ride is basically over. The ride is only 28 seconds, and most of that time is going up to the drop. This ride has to be the craziest ride the park has to offer, but if you think you’re ready, this can be an amazing ride! (You can also go around telling everyone that you’ve ridden the tallest roller coaster in the world!)

These are only a few of the amazing rides found at Six Flags, but definitely some of the best!
