Many classrooms waste so much paper and other materials and then throw them out. Here are some tips to make your classroom more environmentally friendly.
#1: Do as much digital work as possible!!!
Most people think that people use too much technology in class! But if you think about it, how much paper are you wasting, none. What about highlighters and markers that run out, none. And what about all the waste in general, none! So if you really think about it, today's technology is helping us become more eco friendly!
#2: Use the correct bin.
Make sure garbage goes into the garbage can and recycling goes into the recycling bin!
I can not tell you the amount of times I have seen my classmates put paper into the garbage and put tissues and wrappers into the recycling! If recycling goes into the garbage it ends up in a landfill and doesn't get recycled. And that doesn’t make our planet any more eco friendly!
#3: Put up signs.
Putting up signs for what goes in the garbage can and what goes in the recycling bin would prevent mistakes. If you put a sign over the bins people won’t get confused about what goes in which! You can also make a sheet of people who recycle and whoever recycles the most wins a prize! It will convince people to get things they can recycle and recycle them!
#4: Don’t laminate everything.
Most of the time laminated things don’t break down after being thrown away. It is harmful to the environment and you can get the same results with binder sheet protectors! They are reusable and you can put them in a binder, which is easier for students to use.
