It was exciting to see a new book from R.J. Palacio because of her hit book Wonder. It was super popular and it was cool to see her doing a different style of book, a graphic novel. This book is about World War ll and the story of a young girl who has to hide from the Nazis. It was interesting to see such a topic in the form of a graphic novel, which lots of people prefer to read. It was able to tell a really good story in a newer form of book.
The plot of White Bird is very interesting. It has lots of twists and turns to keep the reader interested. A lot of stories are based off of World War II, but this was from a different point of view, from someone who is hiding. It was cool to learn about what it was like. The pictures are also really nice. Graphic novels bring in something that most books don’t have, pictures and it helps readers to imagine what is happening even more. Some of the drawings are really pretty.
This book was really interesting. It made me want to read more about World War ll. It brought me to a new understanding of what happened then. I would really recommend this book, even to someone who isn’t typically a big fan of reading!
A film adaptation of the movie is coming in 2022!
