Please know that in an effort to continue building our stakeholder relationships with trust and transparency, this message is to communicate expectations regarding any COVID-19 confirmed positive cases or close contact quarantines that may arise at Stone Creek.

You can expect to hear from me about any positive, confirmed COVID-19 case reported to our building by 6:00 P.M. each day. If a case is reported outside of that you'll hear by 6:00 P.M. the next day. This information will be sent out via Class Dojo and School Messenger.

If a member of your family was found to have been in close contact, requiring a quarantine, I will contact you directly.

The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) considers “close contact” as being at a distance of 6 feet or less for 15 minutes or longer during the positive individual’s infectious period (48 hours prior to their symptoms showing).

It's important that we remember what close contact is and that we will only notify an individual found to have been in close contact with someone who tested positive.

Per DPH guidance, if we do have a positive, confirmed COVID-19 case within one of our elementary classrooms, all of the students and teacher(s) in the class will be required to quarantine. Mrs. Davis or I will contact you directly if such a situation arises.

I appreciate the diligent work you have done in completing the AUP form allowing your kiddo to take home their chromebook should it ever be necessary.

Finally, parents and guardians, it is important to consistently take your child’s temperature every morning and keep him/her home if (s)he is unwell. This helps to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

If you have any additional questions, please call 706-866-3600 or email me at brandonmosgrove@walkerschools.org.

We appreciate your support and partnership.

Sincerely,

Mr. Mosgrove

Principal

A note from Mr. Mosgrove

August 20, 2020

This message is for parents of in-person kiddos.

In order to be proactive and to better plan, I would like to ask all parents to complete the following form for each of your kiddos here, in the building, at Stone Creek.

Should there ever be a need for your child to move to distance learning for any period of time, this form allows them to bring the chromebook they have at school home and not miss a beat with school work.

Please complete the following for each student. Again, this is only for those students that are coming to the building each day. All of our current digital learners have had parents complete this form already.

Trailblazers who have signed up for Distance Learning will begin on August 20th.

If you are in need of a device, we will hand those out on the 17th, 18th, and 19th between the hours of 9am and 1pm. Please park in the front of the school and we will sign one out to you. We will also have an evening pick up on Tuesday, the 18th, evening from 4pm to 6pm.

We will begin communicating with families this week and next to provide you more information as to who your teacher will be and an overview schedule.

We are asking our digital learners to log on by 8am each day. Please note that kiddos who do not regularly sign on or fall behind on assignments will be at risk of failing and may be dismissed from digital learning.

We very much look forward to supporting you and your family as we "trailblaze" this new endeavor.
