What should I wear?

You should wear your Primary School uniform.

On Monday 10th and Thursday 13th you should wear your PE kit.

You should bring with you a packet lunch, pen and pencil. If you get a free school meal, this will be provided for you.

You will carry your belongings with you at all times so please don't bring anything too heavy or valuable.

What will I do during my two weeks at Walker?

We have designed your two week programme so you can experience as many different aspects of what makes Walker Technology College a great secondary school as possible. You will be taught by teachers from many different subjects and will get to use some of the specialist equipment that makes Walker an exciting place to be.

Our Intake Information Evening will be on Wednesday 5th July.

This event is designed to ensure you and your child become increasingly familiar with our College environment and to meet some of the staff.

To ensure you receive the most from this evening we have staggered each session by form groups within each school house. Please check your letter to see which time you have been allocated.

The session will consist of two activities:

1) Welcome from the Headteacher and the Heads of Lower School.

Here you will be given important information about College rules, our daily routine, standards and expectations.

2) Visit your Lower School and complete administrative tasks.

Once you have had your welcome to Walker you will move to the Lower School breakout areas to meet your school staff and to complete administrative tasks including; checking contact details, signing permission forms, ordering uniform and discussing medical information.
