Room 1c

It is my pleasure to introduce myself to you - I'm Mrs Wendy Morgan and I have the privilege of teaching your child this year. Google Sites are new to our school and are replacing the wiki's that we have used in the past. Above are pictures of the awesome children in our room, all ready for our learning journey in year 3.

Here are some photos from our first five weeks of school! We have been very busy with a tennis taster and an inflatable football session, physical education lessons from Mrs Gillett, music lessons from Mrs Sue Murray, an art intensive week with Mrs Margaret Murray, a lesson on money and the difference between our wants and needs with Marlon, alias Captain Cashtastic, and an awesome elephant themed assembly on Friday. This term Mrs Debra-Kim Croggan from Auckland University is working with us and she has been doing lots of lessons with the children. Congratulations to Jakob who has been selected to be a house captain and well done to all the children who tried out for the available positions. If you need to contact me you are welcome to do so at morgan@wakaaranga.school.nz.

The children have been busy working in Room 1c and have all enjoyed 'SeaWeek'. We have especially learnt lots about jellyfish, fish and other sea creatures. Below are some pictures that the children created with Mrs Murray in the art room. I look forward to speaking to you all at the parent interviews on the 9th and 11th of April.

Term Two

Welcome back for Term Two. If you have read our Year Three Newsletter you will have seen what a busy term it is going to be with swimming lessons, our science unit Kitchen Chemistry, Move and Groove and our cross country.

A big welcome to Ayden and Yazaan who are new to our school and to our classroom, we hope that they enjoy being at Wakaaranga.

Congratulations Sundarveer who had lunch with the principal on Friday 11 May!

SAFETY SWIMMING SESSION

Thank you and goodbye!

A big thank you to all the parents of the children in Room 1c who have made this such an enjoyable two terms for me. I am sad to say goodbye to the class and to Wakaaranga where I have been teaching for 13 1/2 years, but I am really looking forward to my next adventure - travelling overseas with my husband and relief teaching upon my return. I wish you all the best for the rest of 2018 and I hope you all have a relaxing mid-year break with your children. Wendy Morgan :-)
