TO TATAU WAHI

Introduction

Tō Tātau Wāhi caters to students with disabilities and additional learning needs.

The focus is really on a successful transition to school and ensuring that  Tō Tātau Wāhi students feel that they belong at Waitara High and believe that they will succeed.

Part of the process is also a smooth transition out of secondary school to students' next stage of life.

Course Outline

Tō Tātau Wāhi develops ability in living skills, communication and working with others through literacy programmes, basic math and money skills as well as understanding the world that is around them, to ensure they find their place in their community.

Prerequisites & Equipment

Entry into  Tō Tātau Wāhi has a strict entry criteria to ensure the students who need the extra support, get the extra support. This includes students who are verified ORS, have a disability diagnosis, or clearly show they will not be working towards NCEA and have a need for a skills based programme.
