Year 10 Digital Technology
Introduction
Year 10 Digital Technology is an exciting course because it is always changing as new technologies are available. Students will learn skills in creating digital design using drawing and graphics programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop. They will learn how to animate in 2D using Adobe Animate and to create 3D outcomes using a 3D modelling program. They will learn how to integrate media from one program into another to produce an outcome. They will also learn how to code simple web-pages using HTML5 and CSS.
Course Outline
Students will research past and present outcomes and follow the design process to do some of the following:
Planning and coding a web-site
planning and designing computer games,
using multi-media in outcomes,
2D and 3D animation and
creating promotional material using desktop-publishing programs.
Where this course can lead
This course will lead on to NCEA Level 1 Digital Technology and/or NCEA Level 1 Computing.
Prerequisites & Equipment
This an open entry course and there are no prerequisites. There is no equipment required, however, your own headphones would be helpful.
