NCEA Level 3 Te Reo Maaori
This course is an extension of what the students have learnt in Year 12. Students will continue to reap the numerous benefits of being bilingual by taking Te Reo Maori at NCEA Level 3. Research suggests that learning a second language enhances memory, facilitates brain growth, develops cultural awareness and makes you an extremely coveted commodity in the global job market. Several credits are on offer in both internal and external assessments. Some of these standards count for University Entrance in Te Reo as a subject at Level 3.
This is a UE approved course.
Unit Standards and Achievement Standards are offered to the students.
Unit Standards - Credits Available:
Internal - Up to 30 credits
Achievement Standards - Credits Available:
Internal - Up to 16 credits
External - Up to 12 credits
Maaori Performing Arts Level 2 & 3 Unit Standards - Credits Available: (Only available for students who compete in the Pae Rangatahi Kapa Haka Group)
Level 2 Internal - 10 credits
Level 3 Internal - 15 credits

Marae visit, Noho Marae, Manu Koorero, Pae Rangatahi, Koroneihana, Taatarakihi & Puanga

1B5 exercise books are preferred alongside the basic stationery of pen, pencil, and eraser.
Prerequisites: It is preferred that students have completed NCEA Level 1 & 2 Te Reo Maaori. However, if students have not, they will be offered Level 3 Unit Standards.
