Introduction
Introduction
This course is aimed at students who are interested in gaining a basic background in Science/Pūtaiao relevant to their everyday lives. The topics are based on local Science issues, chemical reactions and practical investigations in which you will design and carry out an experiment, collect and process results and produce a scientific report.

This course incorporates a range of Science/Pūtaiao aspects from our basic everyday lives including understanding chemical reactions and their uses in the world around us, how physics concepts impact us in our everyday lives, carrying out practical investigations to collect data and the world of micro-organisms and how they interact with our taiao(environment).

This course provides a general science programme giving students learning in Level 1 Chemistry, Biology and Physics and a basic knowledge of Science for life. This course can lead to students doing Level 2 Biology at the discretion of the Learning Leader of Science.
