Introduction

This course is aimed at preparing students who want to go into Science based subjects or careers in the future. There is a focus on chemistry, biology and physics. Looking at chemical reactions, the chemistry of metals and chemical applications of chemistry. Along with mechanics, the biology of genetics and practical or technological applications of physics in everyday lives or microorganism interactions with humans.  This course provides students with the opportunity to gain endorsement in Science with Merit or Excellence. This course is a requirement for students wanting to go on to study Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Level 2 and 3.

Where this course can lead

This course provides a general science programme giving students learning in Level 1 Chemistry, Biology and Physics. Any student with an interest in continuing to study science in senior school or at a tertiary level should take this general course.
