Introduction

This option is for students interested in working in a Primary Industry occupation such as agriculture, horticulture, farming, etc. Students will engage in both theory learning about agriculture as well as hands on practical activities taking advantage of our school farm and the animals on the farm.

Some credits for unit standards may also be available to students who show a positive work ethic in this subject.

• NZ/Aotearoa Primary Industries,

• Why dairy farming in Taranaki?

• Conventional and electric fencing

• Pastures

• Animal health and welfare
