NCEA Level 1 Geography
NCEA Level 1 Geography
In Geography, we look at our environment and how it can be affected by human activity. Our environment can be natural (awa, moana, maunga) or cultural (buildings, cities, roads).
In this course, we look at things happening in Taranaki, in Aotearoa New Zealand and elsewhere in the world.
We'll do some research in our local area, such as looking at where our rivers are the healthiest - is it on Maunga Taranaki or is it as we get closer to to the sea? Why might that be?
We will also look at where things like volcanoes and earthquakes are located in Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world. How do they impact on people?
Our external standard looks at a challenge in Aotearoa New Zealand or the Pacific and how people may have different viewpoints when it comes to solving it.
