NCEA Level 3 Health
NCEA Level 3 Health
In this course, students will further their knowledge about health issues in the community, nationally and internationally, and how well-being can be impacted by changes that happen on a personal level, a family or friendship level, and at a wider community level.
Students will be encouraged to think about ways to help themselves and others create positive health changes. One example of this will be learning about different health practices nationally and internationally; and how they came about. We will explore ethics, ethical issues, and models for health promotion nationally and internationally.
Health classes will involve many small-group research assessments, whole-group discussions of ideas, and some learning outside of the classroom. Assessments require students to research, report, to apply their ideas and actively explore how to implement them. Students will also need to communicate their knowledge through written responses formally.
