NCEA Level 2 Health
NCEA Level 2 Health
In this course, students will further their knowledge about how well-being can be impacted by changes that happen on a personal level, a family or friendship level, and at a wider community level. Students will be encouraged to think about ways to help themselves and others create positive health changes.
One example of this will be learning how to address issues relating to gender, sexuality, and resilience. We will explore the factors that affect the ability of people to manage changes in their lives, as well as demonstrate how students can bring about change in their school or community.
Health classes will involve many small-group research assessments, whole-group discussions of ideas, and some learning outside of the classroom and implementing projects in the community. Assessments require students to apply their ideas and actively explore how to implement them. Students will also need to communicate their knowledge through written responses.
