Year 10 Visual Arts
Year 10 Visual Arts
Year 10 Visual Arts is both a continuation of the Year 9 Visual Arts course and a preparation for the Year 11 NCEA Level 1 course.
Students will participate in approximately nine separate units of work which all aim to develop their skills in drawing, painting and mixed media. They will also learn to talk and write about Art and how to learn through example by looking at the work of New Zealand and International artists.
Topics covered change between years and are driven by student interests. There is also an opportunity to gain four credits towards NCEA Level 1.
Students have the opportunity to exhibit their art work in several exhibitions during the year.
Success in this subject hinges on thinking skills, practical ability, level of participation and contribution and how willing students are to learn and experiment with a range of techniques and materials.
