The only coach in NYS to participate in the State Finals in both Baseball & Softball
Coached at the NYS Tournament in Baseball, Softball and Wrestling.
Coached at the Sectional Tournament in Football (at that time there were not State or Regional Championships)
Jim graduated from Jamestown High School in 1968. He obtained his Degree in Social Studies and Phys. Ed. from West Virginia University where he played baseball for the Mountaineers. He taught and coached at Falconer Central and Southwestern Central Schools. In 1979 he accepted a position at VVS and he and his wife, Cheryl, moved to Sherrill. They have 2 daughters, Cara and Kristen, and 2 grandsons, Tyler and Luke. At this time they are expecting a third grandchild. Jim has continued his involvement in athletics after retirement by working at Syracuse University and for the Syracuse Chiefs.
