A shooter can be a simple yet effective weapon in Splatoon 3, objectively the best class in the game. To use a shooter, just hold down Zr, and your gun will rapidly fire ink bullets. In midair, most shooters' accuracy decrease, so keep that in mind when going for kills. Shooters seem to succeed in killing and being aggressive. With a shooter, you should never stay in the back, you push your way into mid, get high ground, and kill anyone you see. Make sure to occasionally use bombs (PLEASE DO NOT SPAM, THIS IS FOR ACTUAL PLAYERS NOT SPAMMERS) to push the enemy team back and constantly keep them on their toes. Although a shooter looks and sounds simple, it's not. With this weapon type, it can take some real skill to be as effective as possible.

This weapon is rather... bad I guess. Its very short range and spread make it more difficult to kill or cover turf. Luckily it has a decent sub, that being Curling Bomb which gives this shooter way more mobility. And Ultra Stamp... you're most likely going to die if you use it. So if you could not tell, this weapon is kinda garbage. This kit is just ok with what the weapon is used for, support and killing, and you can use the extra speed the sub and special provide to accomplish this.

Neo Sploosh-o-Matic is one of the worst shooters in Splatoon. No, it's one of the worst weapons in the entire game. Combining the horrible range and way too wide spread shot with the trash kit it received, you get a completely useless weapon. This thing does have Killer Wail, which is ok because of its range, but it also has Squid Beakon which is terrible for this weapon and is even worse on this weapon due to its unusual common positioning that the weapon requires.

This weapon is your basic starter weapon, very barebones and straightforward. Splattershot Jr is a weak short-midrange shooter. It is very ink-efficient and has a fast fire rate, but low damage output. Its sub-weapon is Splat Bomb and its special is Big Bubbler which acts as a temporary shield that can make killing more comfortable. This is also the only free weapon you get (it's the weapon you start with). Big Bubbler is great with Tower Control and fire down while on the tower. As a beginner weapon, its main objective is to cover turf, so be sure to do that as much as you can. A fun fact about Splattershot Jr is that it is the most ink-efficient weapon in the game.
-Ryan, Given, Max
It has the same stats as the normal Splattershot Jr, the difference being the kit; the torpedo paired with its special, wave-breaker can be a decent combo. Be sure to abuse the kit of this weapon to a high extent, and cover turf constantly. Supporting the team is key with this weapon.
-Ryan
The Splash-o-matic is quite amazing overall. Splash-o-matic has a very fast fire rate, and has also got perfect accuracy, so this weapon is pretty good at killing. This weapon also can cover turf very effectively due to its fast fire rate. The Burst bomb is nice for keeping opponents on their toes and it fits well with the main weapon. Its special, crab tank, is good for both killing and covering turf. I highly recommend this. It's a very basic weapon, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's easy to fight against.
-Ryan
Neo Splash is just about as good as the vanilla Splash. It has Suction Bomb and Triple Inkstrike, both notorious for being good on the shooter class. This weapon is good at holding off points, making it amazing in tower control. Remember to use suction bombs efficiently, and hold off the team as much as you can with your great kit.
-Max
Aerospray MG's kit has the fizzy bomb and Reefslider. It's not the best at killing or getting the main objective in ranked battle, with Its only strength being painting and being a support weapon by giving your teammates ink to thrive in. Aerospray has an extremely wide widespread and also has a horrible range, and it's a five-shot. Trying to use this weapon aggressively will never turn out well, so always approach with a special or sub if necessary. Fizzy Bomb is great with Aerospray and allows maximum turf coverage in as little time as possible. Use Reefslider at a disadvantage, and you are set for great gameplay.
-Tasman, Given, Max
This variant's sprinkler is great if you place it near the action, as it gives you a spot to fall back on. While not helping your teammates, spamming ink everywhere can give Booyah Bomb, which is one of the best specials this weapon could have. Use this to help teammates. This weapons kit is still great for support, so focus as hard as you can on helping the team.
-Tasman, Given, Max
This is your average joe shooter. Splattershot is a really good mid-range weapon with quick kill time, making it a powerful slayer. It has Suction Bomb which is good for forcing opponents out of their position. It also has Trizooka which is nice for getting up on a high point and killing opponents in one hit. The Trizooka is incredibly useful against ranged weapons, making the weapon very useful for beginner usage.
-Ryan
This variant has the average splat bomb and a good special, the triple ink strike. This kit is for forcing your opponent into locations, and then using the main spray to kill. Be sure to have bombs out at all times to keep your enemies on their toes. When at a disadvantage, use triple inkstrike and wipe out as many people as possible within a short amount of time.

.52 Gal is a somewhat slow shooter that can 2-shot. It is great at defense and is great at chipping off their entire team until they are all dead. Its kit is designed to keep it safe and is Splash Wall and Killer Wail. This weapon is a powerful weapon in the frontlines, so use it for escort. A very good shooter that is a tiny bit overpowered. Killer wail is great at locking in a target and can wipe them out in an instant. Throwing a Splash Wall and riding around it in tough situations also works well, giving you time to heal and recover ink.
-Max
.52 gal deco is a really good shooter and comes with a fun kit that is great if you know how to use it. It has Curling Bomb and Splattercoler Screen. Curling Bomb can be used as a nice way of sharking or comboing, and Splattercolor Screen is a useful shield that is great at killing people on the other side.
-Max
The N-ZAP '85 has a good fire rate with solid damage and mobility. This weapon can kill effectively due to it being a four shot with a very fast fire rate. When you use this weapon make sure to use suction bomb to its full extent, because it is a good way to force people closer to you and cover a bit of turf. When you aren't killing you need to cover turf, because this weapon has tacticooler which not only helps it a lot but also helps its teammates. This weapon is also amazing at escort, just not aggressive escort. Suction bombs can flood out the enemy team from areas that you don't want them to be in, and tacticooler is THE escorting special. This weapon is all around an amazing weapon, and can do just about anything.
-Ryan, Given, Max, Nathan
The weapon by itself is good but its sub and special are strange. Its sub-weapon is autobomb which is simple to avoid. Its special is Super Chump which is only good at covering turf but even then its coverage is okay. Using Autobomb to chase out people is an important tool, so use it wisely. Due to the main weapon's great turf output, you can get many super chumps, which can be very annoying to deal with if left unattended.
-Ryan, Max
The Splattershot Pro is a weird one, to put it lightly. It has great range and good kill power but doesn't have the fastest of fire rates. The angle shooter is decent on this weapon, use it to pinpoint your opponents and splat them, or to reveal their location to your teammates with more offensive weapons. The special, Crab Tank, is great on this weapon as it has a lot of offensive capabilities. One way to play this weapon is to use the long-range to your advantage at a high point and splat targets under you, use the angle shooter to help teammates, and crab tank to win any battles.
-Tasman, Max, Nathan
This weapon plays a lot like the base model, but has offensive capabilities! The booyah bomb is good with this weapon, but you only get to use it 2 or 3 times a match due to its mediocre turf covering. The suction bomb is great for pushing your opponent out of a spot and splatting them without them firing back. This weapon does very well on Splat Zones because it can kill, cover turf, and when you need it most it pulls out a booyah bomb and covers almost the entire zone.
-Tasman, Nathan
.96 Gal is a more ranged but way slower .52 Gal. Its even better at defense than the original Gal, and still kills in 2 hits. To balance out its support, it has Sprinkler and Ink Vac. This kit is good on it, and Ink Vac works really well due to how this weapon focuses on range. This weapon is very good at killing, because it is a two shot, and because of its precise aim. This weapon loves to stay behind its teammates, but not far enough to where it can't splat other players.
-Max, Nathan
Compared to its original counterpart, .96 Gal Deco has an amazing kit. It has Splash Wall to deal with enemy attacks and keep yourself at a safe distance. It is partnered with Kraken to be used as a panic button if too many enemies flood your area. Overall, .96 Gal Deco is a long-range defense weapon with the tools to keep threats at bay.
-Max
Jet Squelcher is an extremely long-range shooter that has a low fire rate and bad kill power. It's mainly focused on getting far away and overwhelming the enemy with long-range shots that they can't deal with. Its kit reflects this, and it has Angle Shooter and ink vac. Angle shooter isn't typically that good, but it works on Jet because it is also long-ranged and can be used for killing people.
-Max
This version of the Jet Squelcher is bad, but it can be useful in some ways. It's got toxic mist and ink storm and is really good at slowing people down. Toxic mist is okay on this weapon, because you can use it to slow them down so that you can shoot them down from far away. Ink storm helps your team by covering turf, but you should be focusing more on kills with this weapon. I guess if you suck at landing hits use this weapon, but otherwise, use the other one.
-Max
The splattershot nova is similar to a splattershot pro, having long range. What sets it apart from it is that this weapon has slightly less range and power, but more painting capabilities. This weapon has point sensor and killer wail 5.1, which is a good kit for revealing multiple opponents locations at once. You can also combo the basic shot into killer wail 5.1. Unfortunetly, this weapon kills in a minimum of 5 hits which really brings it down.
-Tasman, Ryan
This variant has ink mine and inkjet. The ink mine combined with inkjet allows for a safe inkjet without getting camped. Using inkjet, use a bomb then inkjet to cause a push to start, or snipe down a chokepoint. Then you don't have to worry about guarding your jumping area as the special ends. This weapon is bad at killing because it is a five-shot and because its kit isn't aggressive, so when you use it mainly use it as a support weapon.
-Max, Given, Nathan
L-3 Nozzlenose is a weird shooter and functions like no other. Instead of holding down zr to fire, you have to spam it. By doing this, it fires out a few shots instantly and then takes about a quarter of a second before you can do it again. This weapon can't kill with it's base amount of shots that you fire from only pressing zr once, so make sure to use your kit so that it kills much faster. It's barely even a shooter, but it can be a fun one. Its kit is Curling Bomb and Crab Tank, and I love it.
-Max
This one has a good kit, and has Burst Bomb and Ultra Stamp. It's really good and allows some variation in this weapon. Using a Burst Bomb as a combo tool with is is usually a good idea, due to its nature of 2 shoting. Ultra Stamp is a great emergency button, so use it in bad situations.
-Max
This is the heavy variant of the L-3 and is a lot slower but its shots are more powerful, allowing it to now one shot. Its kit is Point Sensor and Tacticooler, and is very supportive. It's great at being a menace, and you never want to be forced to deal with it. It does take some skill to get to this level, so practice up.
-Max
H-3 D is supportive and is extremely focused on shields. Its entire kit is shields, and these are Splash Wall and Big Bubbler. This works though, due to the slow fire rate but good range of the H-3 D. Getting to a good perch with this weapon is usually the way to go, and playing backlines or frontlines can work with it.
-Max
Squeezer is a strange shooter, to say the least. It has 2 modes that you can fire in, one being when you hold zr, and the other when you spam it. Holding zr fires out short-ranged and widespread ink that takes 5 hits to kill, and mashing it fires out long-range 3-shot ink. Its kit is Splash Wall and Trizooka and works well with controllable ink shots. Use a Splash Wall to hold your position and get kills safely, and Trizooka to kill enemies who outrange you.
-Max
The foil squeezer is the same as the og squeezer but it has autobomb and splattecolor screen. This kit works well with the weapon, and for once is a good kit on a weapon that also has a good kit. Be sure to use autobomb as a combo tool, so you can use your powerful shots to kill off of the top of autobomb.
-Max
