Spawning Grounds is a pretty good map, but because of its kind of cramped spawn area, it can get out of hand fast. All of the entrance routes are either blocked with walls making it hard to take out salmonids, or they have multiple entrances in one spot, making it hard to target a specific boss. Flyfish can absolutely destroy you on this map, so don't just ignore them. High tide also adds even more chaos, so that's not that good, but low tide is pretty good, adding 3 long lanes to go to.

Sockeye Station is a very iconic salmon run map. It has plenty of choke points, but also quite a few areas to evacuate and recover health. In the very center of the map, there is a spiral tower that you can swim up to, and is good if you just made the quota, but you don't want to risk going for more eggs. Although all of this may be good, it makes this map hard to overfish on, so if that's what you plan to do, you should probably wait until the next rotation. Whenever there is low tide, the map becomes very wide and you get a lot of room to work with, so that's a plus. High tide is probably my favorite tide on this map due to it removing all of the chokepoints.

Salmonid Smokeyard is a pretty cool map idea, and it one of the best overfishing maps. This map has two floating fan platforms that you can shoot at to go to the other side of the map. Due to this, the map can require a lot of teamwork. This map also has a lot of different areas where the salmonids can spawn in, so you should always scope out the area before charging into battle. High tide moves the water so high up, that you can ONLY get to the other side of the map with the fans. Low tide is also pretty fun, especially with the giant tornado. Low tide gives you two large lanes connected by grated bridges on the respective left and right side of the egg basket.

Marooners Bay isn't the best, mainly due to how tedious it can be to deal with bosses on this map. The spawn area is set on a metal boat, where salmonids spawn on the left and right side of it. Swimming to the back of the boat leads you to an open area where you can go left or right, or you can use the rising platforms on both sides. Big Shots love to spawn in on the left, which is usually the most empty side. So get them and use their cannons to send the eggs to the basket. High tide is terrible on here, and just entirely removes left and right from the equation, meaning the salmonids that spawn on the shoreline are now placed at the back of the boat. Low tide is surprisingly small on this map, and just adds a large ring of land near the right side of the map.

Jammin' Salmon junction is a pretty straightforward map during normal tide. It has a jump that you can make directly off of spawn that you can use to get to the salmonid spawn area. there is a skinny platform on the right made out of metal grated where flyfish spawn a lot on, so its usually pretty risky to get the flyfish. On the left, there is a steep decline in land where you get to a sliver of land, where a lot of lesser salmonids and stingers spawn. Usually, eggs aren't too hard to get on this map, mainly from a lot of the bosses having decently specific spawn areas. The high tide on this map is kind of insane. It by far has the smallest-sized map in the entire game during high tide, making the whole map just the spawn area and the grated area. This map is usually is gonna be a close call during the high tide. Low tide, on the other hand, makes the map very, very, long and merges all of the lanes into two very close by lanes, only separated by one little bit of water. On low tide, there is going to usually be a large buildup of bosses on the left side and a few lesser salmonids and steelheads on the right.

Gone Fission Hydroplant is really fun, due to its simplistic design, and how it is a lot of fun with most weapons (Including grizzco weapons). This map is a perfect square, with there being a route to the left and front where the entire outer map meets up. Directly behind when you spawn in, there is an incline that you can go up to to get high ground. This area also allows you to go to the outer area on the right side. High tide on this map just completely removes the outer area, now just having the middle and high ground. Low tide, on the other hand, gives you a lot of room to collect eggs. There are 3 pathways that connect at the end that you can go through, and the ends of these paths always have an abundance of steel eels and cohawks.

Bonerattle Arena has you spawn in on a tall, wide pillar with a grate bridge connecting to the left and right. Scattered all over the map, there are inkrails that you can swim in. These inkrails last forever in your ink, so it's easy to just camp on the rails. There are also 3 different low areas that you can go to, and this is where the salmonids spawn. All 3 of these areas are completely covered in water during high tide, and all it does is just give the salmonids more room to spawn. Low Tide is also pretty cool, where it has one big center area, where it's connected to another area with grates that surround it in the shape of a circle.
