VACyberEduCon aims to facilitate collaboration among various stakeholders to enhance cybersecurity education at all levels, from K-12 to higher education. The conference features keynote speakers, panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities, providing attendees with valuable insights and resources to strengthen cybersecurity education initiatives in their communities.
Our 8th annual conference will be held on July 24-25, 2025 in Richmond, VA at Virginia Commonwealth University's STEM Building. This year's theme is "Cybersecurity Expedition: Your Passport to a Safe Digital Journey".
Monta Elkins is a Principal Instructor for SANS Institute. He has served as ‘Hacker-in-Chief’ at FoxGuard Solutions and he is a leading voice in ICS security. A former Security Architect at Rackspace and Radford University’s first ISO, he’s presented at DEFCON, GridSecCon, ICSJWG, and dozens of top cybersecurity conferences.
Known for his hands-on hacks and DIY exploits, Monta makes security real, relatable, and impossible to ignore.
