Pre-Education Advising Program

The Pre-Education Advising Program provides advising to undergraduate students who are interested in teaching and are pursuing degrees in other disciplines. This advising is pre-professional pre-education in its focus -- we know the licensure and SOE graduate school admission requirements. Your undergraduate in-major adviser knows your graduation requirements.

it is important to remember that no college in Virginia offers Education as an undergraduate major. While at the graduate level, you will take courses on methodology and teacher pedagogy, culminating with a teaching license and a Master's degree in Education.

Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Fraternity Fall Applications!

Kappa Delta Pi is the honor fraternity at Virginia Tech for Educators. We are made up of Undergraduate and Graduate Students in many different areas of education including Elementary Education, Secondary Education, STEM Education, Educational Psychology, Reading Education, and many more. We hope to have a community outreach program of some sort this year, host percentage nights to fund community outreach and professional development for future educators, and membership in Kappa Delta Pi comes with many online resources and opportunities including webinars, professional developments, and classroom resources. This is the only Pre-Education Organization on campus that requires application and you must have completed 30 hours of college courses (and be a sophomore, junior, or senior). Inductions will be FALL 2018 (this is a change from the past Spring Inductions). Please fill out this interest survey if you are interested in applying and we are excited to welcome some great new future educators to our organization!
